Eldritch has a wealth of NPC characters to help flesh out the tone and setting of the city, as well as to offer players background hooks, and some background color to scenes.

Policies

Minor NPCs

The NPCs listed as "Minor" are useable as background color for scenes. Players should feel free to emit one of the Nash brothers serving their coffee at The Daily Grind, or Fira announcing matches in The Pit, as long as use of them isn't a focal point of the scene and their poses are in line with what information is listed in their mini bios. Also, staff are open to players interested in apping into or post-chargen hiring at minor NPC businesses. If you would like to be a relation to or somehow closer involved with any of the Minor NPCs in your app, please submit your idea to staff first.

Narrators may use Minor NPCS in their plots with staff permission. This would require a plot synopsis to be submitted to staff for approval, just to make sure that use of the NPC in the manner the Narrator intends doesn't interfere with plots in progress or highly alter the personality or purpose of the NPC.

Please note, some Minor NPCs, once their secrets are revealed, may become Major NPCs.

Major NPCs

The NPCs listed as "Major" are staff run NPCs that have some kind of important impact on the game, or are powered beyond the norm. These NPCs are only useable by staff, except with explicit permission from staff. If a Narrator is interested in using a Major NPC in one of their plots, they need to submit a plot synopsis for approval, and should understand that due to the power level or secrecy level of these characters, they may be refused. It is not personal or a reflection of the Narrator's ability, it is a case of these characters having qualities that the Narrators are not privy to.

Non-Appable NPCs

NPCs marked with the non-app symbol (the X) are not currently open for application. This generally means that staff have future plot-related plans for the character, or that there is something about them that is not common knowledge and has yet to be revealed. These characters may not necessarily remain non-app forever. Once their plot use is fulfilled or their secrets are revealed, they may become open to the playerbase to take on as player characters.

Appable NPCs

Appable NPCs have the + symbol beside their names. This means that they are open for players to apply to play as a PC. The base information for them, and any RP they have been involved in prior must be adhered to. There is some flexibility in re-casting them, and they will have a pre-existing partial character sheet. Approved players will complete the character sheet, flesh out their backgrounds, and submit it for application. If a player drops a former NPC, the NPC will go back up for reapplication with the now-complete sheet and background. This in effect becomes a "roster" or "premade" character.

NPC Businesses and Positions

Some NPCs own businesses or hold job positions that PCs might want to have eventually. If this is the case, staff may be able to accomodate you. We can sit down and discuss the possibility of your character buying out or otherwise taking over an existing business or assuming a position via a plot, or work with you on alternatives if that NPC in their role has not yet served their intended purpose and needs to remain for the time being. Rival businesses are always welcome, within reason (for example, while 10 restaurants are a great way to diversify roleplay scenes, 10 sushi restaurants are incredibly redundant for RP).

Andre Janic - Owner of the Grand Illusion Nightclub in Bay View.
Athelkar Redfluke - Landlord (or Sealord as the case may be) of The Tidal Caves in The Gurgian Hegemony.
Auntie Up - Psychic drag queen and owner of Auntie Up's Casino, located in Diversion Point.
Bailey Vaughn - Bartender at the Serendipity Casino, in Bay View.
Barker Trent - Psychic owner of One Man's Trash Pawn Shop, in The Bazaar.
Bertram Harper - Owner and landlord of the Covenant Apartments, in Harbor's End.
Brisco Gronk - Owner of Brisco's Beach Gear, on the western shore of The Underlake.
Carl Nash - Barista at The Daily Grind Coffee Shop, located in the East End. Son of Esther Nash and younger brother of Raymond Nash.
Chester "Boneyard" Roberts - Owner of the One and Done Surf Shop in Seaside.
Cormac O'Reilly - Co-Owner of the Corner Pocket Pool Hall in Harbor's End.
Cyril Allwood - Owner of The Offbeat Bazaar, located in the East End.
Danita Khael - Half-demon owner of The Joint, an apartment complex in The Underhill.
Derrick Red Eagle - Co-Owner of the Serendipity Casino located in Bay View.Twin brother of Nana Red Eagle.
Dora Mitchell - Co-Owner of the Verdant View Apartments in North Point. Wife of Wallace Mitchell.
Dorian Vega - Vampiric owner of the All In Poker Joint, a gambling den and merc hangout in the Jade Light District.
Eddie Bits - Inhuman owner of The Monster Market, in The Underhill. he can split his body into 40 pieces.
Esther Nash - Owner of The Daily Grind Coffee Shop, located in the East End. Mother of Carl Nash and Raymond Nash.
Evelyn Arthur - Owner of the North Point Stables in North Point.
Faye Carver - Seemingly immortal witch and owner of Hocus Pocus Charms and Spells, located in The Bazaar of the Underground.
Fira - Oden Tal Ringmaster of The Pit, a Fight Club located at the heart of The Waterworks.
Fred Harvey - Current owner of Fence Posts Bowling Alley, located in Uptown.
Gorman Brax - Demonic proprietor of the Anything Goes Club, an opium den and demonic brothel in the Jade Light District.
Gretchen Eddington - Owner of Topsides Surf and Turf, located in Bay View.
Hiroshi Hokkaido - Owner of the Wasabi Sushi Bar, located in Bay View.
Jeff Whitman - Co-Owner of Time Out Sports in Downtown.

Ludwig Hofler - Personal Trainer and owner of Synergy Gym in Eldritch Hills.
Marcello Donati - Director of The Talisman Theater, located in the East End.
Martin Martin - Owner of the Arcana Bay Amusement Park, located in Bay View.
Meredith Dalton - Bouncer at The Crooked Halo, a roadhouse bar in Uptown.
Mister Pandemonium - Creepy ringmaster of The Mystic Menagerie Circus, located in Diversion Point.
Myron Keaton - Eldritch real estate mogul and owner of the Ocean Breeze Condominiums and the Ebb Tide Restaurant in Seaside.
Nana Red Eagle - Co-Owner of the Serendipity Casino located in Bay View. Twin sister of Derrick Red Eagle.
Nedley Cramer - Werewolf landlord of The Warrens, low income housing solution in the Jade Light District.
Nellie Gerber - Daughter of Sheila Gerber and co-owner of the The Ten-Four Diner in Uptown.

Ingrid Gottleib - Chancellor of the University of California at Eldritch in the East End.
Ishan Behari - Principle of Eldritch Public High School, in Eldritch Hills.
Kelvin Hobbes - Mayor of Eldritch, his office is located in City Hall in The Nexus.
Rex Brandon - Game Warden and Director of the Eldritch Zoo, located in Bay View.
Stacy Nolan - Administrator of Eldritch Memorial Hospital in Uptown.

Organization Leaders

The Chairman - The Chairman is the mysterious head of The Synod, whose identity is the deepest held secret in Eldritch.
Ignatio Elcano - Grand Maester of the Collegium Arcanum in The Node.
Percy Dunlop - Rear Admiral in command of the Eldritch Naval Base on the South Jetty.
Quentin Lord - US Army Colonel in command of The Initiative and housed at Area 666 on the South Jetty.
Vincente Donati - Patriarch of the Donati Family. Father of Marcello Donati.
Ulrich - Ulrich is a revenant who presides over The Cabal, an overseeing order of Undead who meet in The Unhallowed.
