Staff-made Content

Non-player-created content of the MUSH Grid, Wiki Page, Forums, and LJ Community, including graphics, templates, and text, are the sole property of Eldritch MUSH and are not permitted for use outside of the game without express written permission. This includes Staff-created NPCs which a player may have been given permission to play. These characters are still MUSH property and not to be used outside the game should a former player depart. They may also be re-apped by a new player at staff discretion.

Player Characters and Player-made NPCs

Player-characters (PCs) and Player-created non-player characters (NPCs) on the MUSH are the sole property of the creating player. If the creating player departs the game, no one may reuse the characters of their creation without their express written permission.

Player-created Content

Player-created content of the MUSH Grid, Wiki Page, Forums, and LJ Community, including graphics, templates, and text but excluding characters, are the co-property of the creating player and Eldritch MUSH and are only permitted for use outside of the game with the express written permission of the creating player. However, by incorporating this content into the Eldritch MUSH grid, wiki, forums, or LJ community the player, by default, grants Eldritch MUSH blanket permission to continue display of and (in the case of contributed game system mechanics, templates, and grid rooms) use of this content even after they depart.

Terms of Service

Before being allowed to enter the game, all players must agree to the Terms of Service and do, by their agreement, verify that they both meet all the requirements to play on the game, and agree to abide by these terms or forfeit their right to play on Eldritch MUSH. Agreement to these terms is implicitly given when a player uses the +register command.

1. Eligibility. Eldritch MUSH is not available to persons under the age of 18 or to any players suspended or removed from Eldritch MUSH by Staff. You agree that the information you provide to Eldritch MUSH during registration and, at all other times, will be true, accurate, current and complete. You also agree that you will ensure that this information is kept accurate and up-to-date at all times. Eldritch MUSH may, at its discretion, refuse to offer access to any person or entity. Eldritch MUSH may change its eligibility criteria at any time. When you register you will be required to enter your real life date of birth as verification that you are 18 years of age or older.

2. Policies. By accepting the Terms of Service and proceeding to use the +register command, you are verifying that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by all game policies for Eldritch MUSH. Type +news policy for a full list of policy files. Please take the time to read them all before proceeding. If you feel you cannot abide by these policies, this game is not the right one for you.

3. Privacy Notice. Eldritch MUSH requires you to register an email so we can properly identify you when registering for alts, the Wiki page, or the Forums. We may also email you activity notices, game status alerts, or newsletters unless you choose to opt out upon registration. Eldritch MUSH will never use your registered email for any other purposes, or divulge your email to any other parties for any reason.

4. Modification of Terms and Policies. Eldritch MUSH reserves the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of these Terms at any time by posting a notice on the Wiki and Announcements board. Please check these Terms and '+news policy' periodically for changes. Your continued use of Eldritch MUSH after the posting of changes constitutes your binding acceptance of such changes.

5. Password. When you create a player object you are asked to provide a password. As you will be responsible for all activities that occur within your account, you should keep your password confidential. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to it. Further, you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

6. Violations; Termination. You agree that Eldritch MUSH, at its discretion and for any or no reason, may terminate any account (or any part thereof) you may have with Eldritch MUSH or your use of Eldritch MUSH and remove and discard all or any part of your account including its code, objects, and rooms, wiki accounts and content, and forum accounts and content at any time. Eldritch MUSH may also at its discretion and at any time discontinue providing access to Eldritch MUSH, or any part of its extended Internet services thereof, with or without notice. You agree that any termination of your access to Eldritch MUSH, its Wiki or Forums, or any account you may have or portion thereof may be effected without prior notice, and you agree that Eldritch MUSH shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such termination.

7. No Warranties. You acknowledge that Eldritch MUSH has no control over, and no duty to take any action regarding: which users gain access to Eldritch MUSH, its Wiki or Forums; what Materials you access via them; what effects such Materials may have on you; how you may interpret or use such Materials; or what actions you may take as a result of having been exposed to such Materials. Eldritch MUSH, its Wiki, Forums, and Livejournal Community may contain information or links to websites containing information that some people may find offensive or inappropriate. You release Eldritch MUSH from all liability for you having acquired or not acquired Materials through the game and its extended web presence.

8. Indemnification; Hold Harmless. You agree to indemnify, save, and hold Eldritch MUSH, its staff, and its hosts and providers harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, including attorneys' fees, arising out of your use or misuse of Eldritch MUSH, its Wiki, Forums, and Livejournal Community, violation of these Terms, violation of the rights of any other person or entity, or any breach of the representations, warranties, and covenants made by you herein.

9. Content Disclosure. Eldritch MUSH will not be held responsible for (1) any content generated by Eldritch MUSH users/players or (2) content that exists through any links posted on the Eldritch MUSH game, Forums, Wiki, or Livejournal Community.

Reminder: When first connecting to the game, you make a coded agreement to the Terms of Service before you are allowed to enter the system. Once you make this agreement, you are fully responsible for adhereing to the terms of service on the game. "I didn't know that" will not cut it as an excuse, especially when these terms are readily available in the news files and on the wiki.
