Images

The following guidelines pertain to uploading and displaying images on the Eldritch Wiki.

Casting Image

Staff will provide a casting image for all characters. If you wish for your image to be changed, @mail Talia on the game with a link to the full URL of the image you wish to be used. This should be appropriate to extract a headshot from which is easily resizable to 62 by 62 pixels.

Team Image

A default image will be provided for all teams. If you wish for your image to be changed, @mail Talia on the game with a link to the full URL of the image you wish to be used. This should be easily resizable to 62 by 62 pixels.

Business Image

A default image will be provided for all businesses. If you wish for your image to be changed, @mail Talia on the game with a link to the full URL of the image you wish to be used. This should be easily resizable to 62 by 62 pixels.

Location Image

A default image will be provided for all locations. If you wish for your image to be changed, @mail Talia on the game with a link to the full URL of the image you wish to be used. This should be easily resizable to 62 by 62 pixels.

Wiki Character Infobox Image

Staff will provide a Main character image for the info box for all characters. If you wish for your image to be changed, you may upload a properly sized one (277 pixels wide by 325 pixels high). To do so, do the following:

Go to your character page.
Click on your existing image This will take you to the file information page for the image.
Under the file history section of the page, beneath the deletion table, will be a link to Upload a new version of this file. Click that.
Browse to your properly sized image on your computer.
Check the ignore any warnings box.
Click Upload file.

Please be sure to use this method to overwrite your existing image. The site adheres to a consistent naming convention for the main box images. (Wiki_Name.jpg)

Other Images

All other images used on player pages should adhere to the following regulations. Images which do not abide by these regulations will be removed.

Maximum Image Dimensions: 250 pixels by 300 pixels or 250 pixels square. These are full size illustrative images.
Maximum Image File size: 200 KB
Maximum Icon Dimensions: 125 pixels by 175 pixels or 125 pixels square. These are small images which are used in large numbers, such as friends icons or gallery images.
Maximum Icon File size: 25 KB
Maximum Total Image File Size Per Page: 1 MB. The total of all images on your character or team page cannot exceed 1 MB in file size. This doesn't mean you should try to fill a MB. It would make your page load like molasses. This is just the absolute maximum that we will allow before we start removing your images. Most image programs can resize or reduce an image's quality to reduce the file size. If you do not know how to do this, contact staff and they can assist.
No nudity or offensive images.
When updating or changing an image, please click on the image that is being updated or replaced and use the method listed in the Wiki Character Infobox Image section to upload a new version of this file.
Orphaned images more than a week old will be deleted from the wiki during a weekly image purge.

Templates

As the game progresses, new templates may be introduced for use on user pages. These are the guidelines for using those.

Using Existing Templates

Templates can be located via the Templates category under Special:SpecialPages. They may be used with the following restrictions.

Templates prepended with Header, Info, Staff, or QD are restricted for use only with the pages they were designed for. Contact staff if you are unsure of their specific uses.
All staff and user-made templates on this site are designed for use strictly on this site unless otherwise noted.

Creating New Templates

You may create new templates for use on the Eldritch wiki if you are knowledgeable in making them. However, the following regulations apply.

Templates should be named clearly regarding their function.
An example of the placement code must be set within <pre></pre> tags and placed on the template page, surrounded by <noinclude></noinclude> tags.
A description of each label in the template and it's expected use should be placed within the <noinclude></noinclude> tags.
The Templates category must be added to the bottom of the template within the <noinclude></noinclude> tags.
When the template is tested and ready for use and you wish for it to be protected so it cannot be tampered with, please @mail Talia on the game with a link to the template.
By making a template on Eldritch Wiki, the site is granted usage rights to the template, regardless of whether or not you remain. User made templates should be free for use for all users within the confines of the Eldritch Wiki.
