Game System:Specialties
From Eldritch Wiki
The following is information on the Specialties system used in Eldritch MUSH.
Contents |
Overview
Specialties are intrinsic to how the system works outside of combat. Specialties allow you to narrow your abilities down, without compromising the broadness of the skill-set as a whole. A roll is typically Attribute + Skill OR Attribute + Attribute in some cases. However, Specialties allow you to take your skills in narrower fields even further, so that you may roll Attribute + Skill + Specialty. Specialties don’t typical add to an Attribute + Attribute roll; those bonuses are reserved for things gained through Qualities. However, there may be exceptions. A Specialty cannot have a rating higher than 3. Specialties are bought with Specialty, Skill and/or Character Points (from chargen drawbacks) on a 2:1 basis.
